1. Why do we have to soften the water (also known as de-hardening) ?

2. What kind of water is considered hard water?

Water that contains a lot of Ion (+) Cations, above a certain level is called hard water. Based on the concentration of these cations, water can be classified into 3 main hardness groups, which are:

Temporary hardness contains (Ca2+, Mg2+)
Permanent hardness contains (Ca2+, Mg2+, HCO-3, Cl- ,SO2-4.)
Total hardness contains both temporary and permanent properties Ca(HCO3)2, Mg(HCO3)2 and MgCl2,...
